Username on the Logon, used by counterparties that authenticate sessions with a user name and password.
- It is sent with Password (554). Many venues rely on CompIDs and source IP instead and ignore both fields.
Changes between FIX versions
- Username (553) and Password (554) are in the Logon from FIX 4.3. Earlier sessions used counterparty-specific fields for credentials.
